Smart Village Scotland was commissioned in late 2020 by Borris Community Development CLG to develop a Smart Village portal for the community of Borris, a village in County Carlow in Ireland.
The community there pulled together and provided a wealth of information to be poplulated on the portal including lots of great content on the history and natural heritage of the area as well as useful information for visitors and residents such as a directory of local businesses, artisans, and activities. This Smart Village also involved the creation of an online presence for the local market for the first time. Digital champions were identifed and trained as part of the delivery of the project.
