The Rural Youth Project Smart Village (RYPSV) has properly come to life.
On the 13th of May Smart Village Scotland and the Rural Youth Project launched the full RYPSV Platform for young people in Rural Scotland. After months of hard work with our diverse team of digital champions (DCs) and their wider networks, we have been able to pull together this amazing platform that will promote opportunities, provide useful resources and inspire young people throughout rural Scotland.
The online launch event attracted around 60 people to come along a see the full site for the first time and our Digital Champions gave a virtual tour around, whilst talking about the key features and the input other young people have had with designing the new Smart Village.
Now it is launched, and thanks to LEADER funding, we have recruited a further 5 Digital Champions to help create, collate and populate the RYPSV to keep it current, useful and exciting for other young people, making it the platform to go to if you are young and living in rural Scotland.
The platform allows users to create an account which gives them access to a personalised space where you can save opportunities, useful toolkits and templates. It also allows you to submit new opportunities and directory listings onto the site.
If you know of a great job, volunteer opportunity, event, training session relevant to young people in rural Scotland, then head over to www.rypsv.com set up an account and post it up now!
If you know of any young people who are after support in rural Scotland too then please tell them to get in touch with Grant who is the project coordinator for Smart Village Scotland (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Watch the site over the next 3 months as we enter into the 3rd phase of the project, funded by LEADER, to integrate a Zoom room and Discord function (young people's forum) into the platform to encourage more collaboration and get more young people involved in this exciting project.
