We are pleased to share the latest Smart Village updates with you, highlighting the great things happening across rural Scotland and beyond.
There have been a number of positive developments in the last few months, with the Braemar SV portal now live, some great news for Borris, and developing Smart Village, Grantown, continuing to move forward. Read on to find out more:
The new Braemar community portal launched in June, and features a calendar of events, news and travel information, and a noticeboard for local updates. It also highlights community groups and local businesses and public services, making it a valuable resource for residents and visitors alike. In other news, it was great to see that Borris Smart Village was shortlisted for a “Digital Rising Star” award in the Irish Digital Town awards. The platform has continued to develop since it was handed over to the local community and receives fantastic engagement.
And GrowBiz was delighted and humbled to win the ‘Biggest contribution to enterprise development locally’ category at The Rural Perth & Kinross LEADER Programme Awards Ceremony for our Enterprising Rural Perthshire’ project and ‘Making Rural Business Digital’ project, of which Smart Village Scotland is a major part.
In addition, our CEO Jackie Brierton won the ‘Outstanding Contribution to LEADER & the Rural Economy’ category for her tireless support of the Rural Perth & Kinross LEADER programme and her dedication to the importance of the rural economy and its role in making our rural areas sustainable.
