Coronavirus Update — 18 May

Well, Monday has rolled around once again. Whether that finds you commuting to your living room from your bedroom or going to work just as normal, we hope you have a great and productive week.

A reminder for this week: If you’re self-employed make sure you check for eligibility and apply for the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme as soon as possible. You need to do this yourself and you do not need to wait for an invitation from HMRC.

Other important updates this week include:

Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme: Last week it was announced that this furlough scheme, where the government covers 80% of employees wages, has been extended until the end of October. From August it will change slightly to allow more flexibility to get employees back to work. You'll need to apply by Wednesday 20‌‌ May to ensure you receive a payment by the end of May. Read more here.
