Perthshire Artisans last month celebrated its one year anniversary, which coincided with 10 new artisans being added to the platform, for a current total of 28. They've also been keeping busy with promotional activities, with a recent appearance on STV News and lots of buzz around their participation in the Perthshire Creates Summer Design Market.
New Perthshire Artisan Diana King featured in the Perthshire Advertiser as she prepared for the Design Market, creating stylish jewellery from her ‘she shed’.
Fellow Perthshire Artisan Nicola McCabe also attended the market and featured in a Q&A in the Courier. “I’ve had great support from GrowBiz and being part of Perthshire Artisans has just been vital” she says, citing the isolating effects of the pandemic.
As well as individual Artisans, Perthshire Artisans as a whole attended the Design Market. Caron Ironside, creative Enterprise Facilitator at GrowBiz, said of the experience, “We really enjoyed the opportunity to introduce Perthshire Artisans to visitors at the Summer Design Market. They loved seeing the quality and selection of work in person, and fully endorsed the concept of Perthshire Artisans supporting the local creative sector.
“Hopefully now they know about Perthshire Artisans, they’ll remember to visit the site, follow us on social media and find it an easy way to also support Perthshire creatives when they’re looking for something different.”
Applications to join Perthshire Artisans are currently open, find out more and apply here, or come along to this event on Tuesday 20 July, 10:00 – 11:00, to hear from some of the creatives already on the platform and have a chance to ask any questions prior to making an application.
