Information and opportunities for a productive autumn:


Young Person’s Guarantee Employer Webinar: The aim of the Young Person’s Guarantee is to ensure that every young person in Scotland has employment, training or higher education opportunities within 2 years. This employer webinar, delivered by the Scottish Government and Skills Development Scotland on the 22 October, will help you find out more about the benefits of engaging with young people, the support available and how you can get involved. Social Investment Scotland Retail Academy: This new programme has been developed to support social enterprises that are ready to scale up their operations and take themselves to the next level. Applications are currently open, and the Academy will take place the week of 25 – 29 October. Find out more and apply here.


National Park Experience Webinar: There is potential for the Cairngorms National Park to join National Park Experiences as a destination and individual experiences to become one of a handpicked selection that are listed on the National Parks UK website. Christmas Market at Kirklands: Artists, makers and producers who’d like to take part in the Christmas Market at Kirklands, St Martins on the 27th November should email info@organicwelltree.co.uk for a registration form this week. This must be completed, and £5 registration fee paid, by 15th October.


Roadmap to Net Zero and the Zero Carbon Tour: The #ZeroCarbonTour is headed to Perth and Kinross on Tuesday 26th October, 11am - 3.15pm, at Perth Theatre. Organisations and businesses of all sizes are invited to join the discussion on the concept of net zero and why it’s so critical. An online live stream will also be available. Days Out Incentive Fund: This fund administered by Visit Scotland is designed to support the recovery of tourism businesses and encourage continued visitors to attractions and experiences across Scotland in the off-season and at non-peak times. It will be open to visitor attractions and experiences who have a place of business in Scotland, charge admission fees, are open, have availability between November 2021 and February 2022, and are signed-up to the COVID-19 industry standard 'We're Good to Go' or equivalent. Applications close at 5pm, Tuesday 12 October 2021. Find out more here.


Productivity Club October Events: These events will be delivered in collaboration with Developing the Young Workforce regional committees, the Dundee and Angus College and Career Ready. Speakers will be from businesses who’ve offered an apprenticeship to a young person. The Events are as follows:


‘The Mountain People’ Film Commissioning Grant: Kendall Mountain Festival have teamed up with Rab® to launch a Film Commissioning Grant that will contribute £10,000 and project support to a winning film application. The grant is for a documentary film of up to 30 minutes to be made in the UK during the period of November 2021 to September 2022 exploring the theme, ‘The Mountain People’.
