It’s hard to believe that we are halfway through December already! But there’s still plenty of news, updates and opportunities to share with you as we near the end of 2023:


Zero Waste Scotland Perth and Kinross Circular Economy Survey 2023 - 2024

Do you live, work or do business in Perth and Kinross? Zero Waste Scotland have appointed Enscape Consulting to carry out a survey that looks to understand why and how individuals and organisations are engaging in projects and activities that reduce negative impacts on the environment and climate, with a focus on the circular economy. Start Up Loans

UK start ups can apply for a government-backed, unsecured personal loan of between £500 to £25,000 to start or grow your business. You’ll also receive 12 months of free mentoring. You can repay the loan over a period of 1 to 5 years, with a fixed interest rate of 6% per year. Find out more here.


North Lanarkshire Business Growth Fund

This fund is designed to support the long-term sustainability and growth of small and medium-sized businesses in North Lanarkshire. Up to 50% of eligible project costs, to a maximum of £50,000, can be provided. You must have been actively trading for at least 12 months to be considered. Find out more here.


Shetland Islands Council Coastal Communities Fund

A grant of between £5,000 and £100,000 is available to organisations (such as charities, social enterprises and community groups) with projects that support the community and economic development of Shetland. The grants will cover between 75% and 90% of the total cost, with the difference funded by the organisation. Find out more here.



Next Generation Practical Training Fund

This fund, managed by Lantra, aims to support new entrants to farming (less than 5 years) by providing up to £500 per course for skills development and training on the practicalities of agriculture, plus wider business and sustainability skills. Find out more here.


Women in Forestry Practical Training Fund

Women and girls in Scotland who are or would like to work in forestry can get 100% of training funding up to the value of £500 per course, providing them with additional skills to progress their careers and employment opportunities. Find out more here.


Moray Social Enterprise Network Special Event
