Social Enterprise Awards Scotland 2024
Now open for applications, these awards celebrate the incredible work and impact of social enterprises in Scotland and highlight the vital role they play in supporting communities, building places, and making a positive impact on our environment and wellbeing. GrowBiz is looking for an inspirational and experienced Co-CEO to share the current CEO’s workload. This is a diverse and demanding leadership role within a unique organisation focused on building sustainable and resilient enterprises and communities, both geographically and in key sectors across rural Scotland. The successful candidate will have significant strategic development experience, particularly in the business support and local economic development arenas. This is a contracted role of around 120 hours per month, with flexible work time as agreed with the current CEO. Black Social Entrepreneurs Start Up – Scotland
This is a free learning programme, funded by PwC and delivered by the School for Social Entrepreneurs in partnership with Dechomai, to support Black social entrepreneurs to develop, refine and grow their business. Up to 10 places are available for eligible organisations. The application deadline is 1pm on Friday 26th July. Change Mental Health Rural Connections
Free funded introductory mental health awareness training is available from Change Mental Health for rural organisations and businesses with less than 50 members of staff with the Rural Connections project. It takes place over a 4-hour session online through video conferencing. Find out more here.
Networking Event: Celebrating Volunteering through Befriending and Mentoring
Befriending Networks and the Scottish Mentoring Network will be celebrating and highlighting their volunteer success stories during Volunteers' Week. This free online networking meeting on Wednesday 5 June, 12.30 - 14:00, will discuss the benefits and challenges of volunteering. Open to members, non-members and volunteers. Find out more here.
Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards
Entries are now open for the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards, with a deadline of 19th June. The ceremony will be held in Glasgow on 9th October,with a Scotland Food & Drink conference earlier in the day. Find out more and enter here.
