Rural Enterprise News: 15 December

Many self employed and rural businesses are now thinking about winding up for a break at the end of the year, but there are still a few events and opportunities to be aware of:

GrowBiz Support: Whether you’re looking for someone who can answer some of your questions around help with funding applications, supplier costs, energy costs, diversifying, collaboration, or planning for the future, GrowBiz has a support service that can assist and signpost you. Take a look at their new cost of living support page here.

Short Term Let Licensing: The short-term let licensing implementation has been delayed by 6 months for existing accommodation providers. Find out more here.

The Smarter Choices, Smarter Places (SCSP) Open Fund: Match funded grants of between £5,000 and £100,000 are available to support public, third and community sector organisations to encourage people to choose more sustainable and active travel options, such as walking, cycling or taking public transport. Find out more here.

REDS Virtual Winter Market: This is a great way to discover and support small businesses and enterprises from across rural Scotland, many of whom don't have a high street presence, so can be harder to find without events like this to bring them together. The event took place last weekend, but the social media posts are still available to browse on Facebook and Instagram (an easy way is to search the hashtag #redswintermarket22) and the market gift guide will be remaining live on the website. You can find it here.
